Ferrari´s Fernando Alonso emerged as victor in China with Raikkonen and Hamilton on the podium

Fernando Alonso gave Ferrari their first win of the season in a commanding style after disposing pole sitter Hamilton off the lead during the early laps of the Chinese Grand Prix with Raikkonen (Lotus) coming 2nd with a damage nose cone and Hamilton (Mercedes) .

Hamilton started off from pole to lead the race but was closely followed by the Ferrari´s of Alonso and Massa while Raikkonen experienced a bad start. On lap 5 Alonso jumped ahead of Hamilton to grab the lead with team mate Massa following suite to move ahead of the Mercedes. Raikkonen´s bad start off the line hindered Rosberg too which helped the Ferraris to move ahead but Raikkonen was right on the tail of Hamilton. The soft tyre runners started to pit by lap 5 which pulled the medium trye runners Hulkenberg, Vettel and Button to the front.

By Lap 21 Alonso came in strong to take back the lead from Jenson Button while Perez pushed Raikkonen out of the track which damaged the Finn´s nose cone which he managed to carry on until finish.

Vettel led the race briefly as Alonso pitted for the second time while Hulkenberg fell behind the RedBull with a bad pit stop.

Raikkonen with his damaged Lotus was challenging Lewis and managed to get an advantage on lap 37 while the Brit was on the pits. As Button and Vettel pitted for new tyres Raikkonen and Hamilton moved to 2nd and 3rd while Alonso was miles away.

Raikkonen started to pull away from Hamilton but was unable to catch up the Ferrari while Lewis mustered great laps with his blistered tyre to keep Kimi in sight. But the surprise late attack came from none other than the reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel, who pulled out amazing laps to close in hugely on the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton adding suspense to the final laps of the race.

On the last lap Hamilton was held up by backmarker Van Der Garde which brought Vettel even closer to the Mercedes. The Brit cleanly got ahead of the Dutchman while Vettel plunged too aggressively and went wide which was enough for Hamilton to secure the final podium spot as Alonso took victory 10seconds ahead of Raikkonen.

Rosberg retired with a broken rear anti–roll bar and Mark Webber retired when his Red Bull lost its right–rear wheel as he tried to get back to the pits and was fined 5000 Euros.

Force India´s Adrian Sutil retired after crashing behind young mexican Esteban Guiterrez, who made a mistake on the braking and will be handed a 5spot grid penalty in the next race in Bahrain.
